Walsh is a London-based structural and civil engineering consultancy with experience across a number of sectors including residential, commercial, refurbishment and hotels/leisure. Following a buyout and a strategic re-appraisal of the business, Walsh approached Lionhouse to re-define, clarify and communicate a new era for their business going forward.
A brand that makes anything possible
Walsh’s existing branding did not communicate that they are a leading, respected engineering firm. They needed a new brand identity that was memorable, confident and was more suggestive of what they do.
Inspired by the impossible drawings of M.C Escher, we created a new identity system based around a cleverly ‘engineered’ W for their logo. This impossible engineering style was extended into an original, unique typeface as well supporting illustrations. This, along with our new typography and colour palette, gave us the flexibility to produce a full set of new brand collateral including stationery, brochures, reports docs, emails, social media skins, event graphics and a new corporate website.

As part of the rebranding, Walsh required a new website to replace their out dated existing one. We started by interviewing their team of directors and engineers to ascertain what they needed from the website and what their clients would find helpful.
Armed with this information and extensive competitor research, we were able to plan and wireframe a completely new site that would not only show off the great work and appeal to potential clients, but also become a central part of their ongoing marketing strategy.
With a clear focus on user experience and performance, we designed and developed a completely new responsive website. With so many strong projects in their portfolio, they had a wealth of great stories and photography, which we let shine in an extensive portfolio section. We created designated landing pages for their core services and sector specialisms in order to drive traffic and improve SEO.

Building their own brand.
Following the creation of the extensive brand guidelines document, as well as printed brochures and stationery, we designed a full set of versatile customisable templates for the team at Walsh to use internally. This gave them the control and flexibility to take the brand forward and ensured they always achieved a consistent brand delivery.
As an ongoing relationship, we continue to create and design various campaigns for Walsh. This includes regular responsive email campaigns, event graphics and more recently help with the design of their London based office interiors.
