Global Week of Action

The Catholic Church and Caritas’ Global Week of Action has just wound to and end, having run 17th – 24th June, but the passion people have shown for this cause has only just begun.

Our journey with Caritas started last year, when we created and launched their two year campaign “Share The Journey”. Aimed at highlighting the struggles and everyday difficulties that migrants and refugees around the world experience, and try to bust some of the myths we have all heard about them.

The Global Week of Action was a week-long activity, within their two year campaign, where Caritas organisations and local communities promoted a range of activities for people to engage with, to get a more hands on experience of understanding the current climate for migrants and refugees, and to interact with these people to show their support.

As part of our overall campaign creation and identity, we designed and built their website, which we added a dedicated landing page for this week of action, which hosts all the relevant information for people to learn about the event and how to get involved. An interactive map was populated with local events, organised by Caritas organisations as well as the general public. Within a few days of this being live, the map had events offering support for migrants and refugees listed in 50 different countries.

As well as the local events, we encouraged people who couldn’t attend or arrange an event to continue using the hashtag #sharejourney, which has now been used thousands of times online.
